Donate Wine! The Springer auction is looking for donations of wine for the wine wall! The wine wall is a Springer auction tradition. It works like a raffle with an awesome winner’s prize AND raises lots of money for the school. If you have a bottle or two you would like to donate, please bring it to the office or contact Hilary Burcell (hilary[at]burcell.com) to arrange a pickup. If you would like a receipt for your donation please include your name and a brief description of your wine (name/type and date). LAEF

Did you Know...K-3 class sizes are 25 or smaller because of LAEF?

The 2014-15 LAEF grant provides funding for the teachers needed to keep class sizes lower. Transitional kindergartens through third grades are limited to a maximum of 25 students per class because of your donations. In addition, first and second grade classes have a trained instructor during Literacy/Reading lessons for 45 minutes, four days a week. This lowers the student-to-teacher ratio even farther. Keeping student-to-teacher ratios lower during these critical educational years is important to LASD parents, and these dollars are hard at work in our classrooms today.

The LAEF grant benefits every student in every grade evenly. We have less than $1 million to go for programs that are currently in place in our classrooms this year.

LAEF cannot fund these programs without your support!

Make your tax-deductible LAEF donation today at www.laefonline.net (or bring a check to the school office)

Fun!visor & Springer Scribes

Over eighty Springer students are participating in Springer Scribes, one of Springer's new noontime Fun!visor activities this year focused on creative writing. We hope to publish some of these works in Springer's first Literary Journal at the end of the year.  Fun!visor programs are free and open to any 1st-6th grade student at Springer.
