Principal’s Message |
Dear Springer Families,
Where has the time gone? My son just finished Kindergarten… as I look back at him through the rearview mirror I am simply awed and amazed that time has passed so quickly. I asked myself where has the time gone? What a wonderful year this has been! Springer families and staff thank you all for supporting the students and making this an incredibly awesome year!
I wish you all a summer full of relaxation, adventure, and fun-filled learning!

Staffing Update |
In the 2017-18 school year we are thrilled to have joining our staff: Ali Stephens I am thrilled to be part of the LASD team this year! I started my teaching career in San Carlos, at White Oaks Elementary for the past eight years. I am a Resource Specialist and have worked with Kindergarten through 8th grade. I have also taught Extended Summer School for the last eight summers too. I received my Liberal Studies degree, General Education Teaching Credential, Masters in Special Education, and Special Education Teaching Credential, all from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I am originally from the Central Coast, but moved up to the bay to teach. I have been married for four years to a wonderful husband and we have a five year old maltipoo. My favorite hobby is baking, along with cooking, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. This past summer my husband and I went to Cuba! |

After School Activities |
Please stay tuned to the Springer website for updated flyers for our after school activities. |
2017-2018 Hot Lunch Program |
We will be continuing with Choice Lunch for 2017-2018. Any remaining balance on your account will roll over to next year. If you will NOT have a child at Springer in 2017-2018, you will need to contact Choice Lunch to request a refund of your remaining balance. (Choice Lunch is not the lunch vendor at Blach or Egan.)
We are seeking volunteers to join the Hot Lunch crew for 2017-2018. The Hot Lunch program would not be possible without the 20+ volunteers per week that come in to serve lunch! The lunch volunteer shift is weekly, or alternating weeks, from 11:25-12:15. Contact Donna Murphy (at jcdrm{at}yahoo{dot}com) to join the lunch crew or if you’d like more information. |

Attention Sixth Grade Parents! |
Hello 6th grade Parents,
Congratulations to all your graduating 6th graders. For those of you with children entering Blach next year that would like to help out at the school, please consider volunteering to serve lunch. This is a fun way to see the kids in action and one of the very few opportunities for volunteering at Blach. In the past, sign ups happen at the back to school coffee, but now we start serving lunch on the first day of school. Because of this, crews are being set up now. It is a great way to stay connected to other parents from your elementary school and also to meet new parents. There is plenty of room to organize a small group that wants to work together.
Please contact me at srkhuntia@yahoo.com if you'd like to volunteer or if you have any questions. Please let me know what days work for you and if you would like to volunteer every week or every other week or would like to be put on the substitute list. Please also let me know if you want to be scheduled with specific people.
Thank you so much, Sarita Khuntia Blach Hot Lunch Committee |
