Principal’s Message |
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year to all. Each year I make a new year’s resolution to be healthier than the last year. Of course being healthy encompasses this new year’s resolution - being present, exercising the mind, and being mindful is an everyday practice. But this year I want to continue to savor all of the new memories, connections and experiences I have had at and will encounter to have here at Springer. I look forward to continuing my journey with all of you here at Springer. Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday creating new memories. As I walked through the classrooms this week students are eagerly creating their resolutions, setting new goals and beginning their own new learning journeys. Each day is always filled with the joy of learning, yearning of new knowledge and creativity. In one class I observed students applying proportions to cartoon caricature and in another class I observed students working in small groups learning about explorers. Each day as I walk through the classrooms I am reminded constantly that learning is happening everyday, every moment inside and outside the classroom and school. As an adult it is a reminder that we are all learners no matter what are age. Lynn Boskie, Principal Buzzz… I moved to Mountain View in October…. Many new ventures for me this year. New job, new home and new school. Also, did you know I love reading historical fictions.

We Want You … Substitute Opportunities! |
The Silicon Valley economy is doing well and unemployment is quite low. For LASD, this means fewer people interested in substitute teaching. We are looking for parents who would be interested in helping our schools by becoming a substitute teacher. This may initially sound a bit unnerving, but it is actually a wonderful way to learn more about the learning of our students. You can choose your schedule, working as often or as little as you would like as well as at the schools of your choosing. We could really use your help, so please consider the opportunity. If you would consider joining our substitute teaching pool, we are offering a free mini-training hosted by our Human Resource & Curriculum Departments. Mark your calendars for Thursday, January 19th from 9am-12:30pm. For more information click the link here and/or contact Erin Green, Director of Student and Staff Services at egreen@lasdschools.org |
