Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to our Springer 6th grade flag football team.  Outstanding team effort.

And thank you all for coming out and supporting Measure GG – and thank you to all the volunteers who put in so many hours. It’s a relief to know the district can count on those funds as we plan for the future and your children!

A Reminder: Last week our trial period with Pokemon cards ended.  The cards were becoming a distraction for the students so we’re asking that these precious treasures stay at home.

Mindfulness Corner:

In the end, just three things matter -

How well we have lived

How well we have loved

How well we have learned to let go

Reading Corner:   We have a Parent Library in our office.  You may check out the books with Diana Rudolph for no more than a month.  What kinds of books will you find there?

Bee, Bi, Cartoon, Honey, ...

Buzzz… Did you know that Mrs. Boskie  loves apple pies and chocolate pudding pies. When my family celebrated Thanksgiving my mom would always make me a chocolate pudding pie.  Fond memories I have sitting around the dining room table after a family meal.

Help… our neighboring school Loyola Elementary School  is in need of noon duty coverage. If you are interested or know of anyone who is interested please contact the Principal, Kimberly Attell at 254-2400.

Donate books to kids in need

As in previous years we will be collecting money to be used to buy books that will be distributed to the children of the Lake County, CA fire. This year, you can also select a book to donate for this purpose.

Please discuss your family’s purchasing guidelines before the event to help children make good choices.

A hold area will be available daily if you prefer to make purchase decisions together after school.

As this is a fundraiser, all sales are final.

Lego Noontime Funvisor Club

The popular lunchtime Lego club is back and will start Tuesday, November 29!!

We are looking for a few volunteers to help with this wonderful program.

Needs are to help set out Lego bins at beginning, monitor children, and return bins at the end. Volunteer as many Tuesdays per month as you can.

Community Food Drive!

Hello Springer Community! The Springer Student Ambassadors (formerly Student Council) are teaming up with the Community Service Agency (CSA) of Mountain View to fundraise non-perishable food items for families in need this holiday season.  We will hold a non-perishable food drive starting on Monday, November 7th and ending on Friday, November 18th.  The Springer Student Ambassadors will be collecting the food in front of the Star Wall each morning of the food drive.  For every three items donated, students will receive a raffle ticket and be entered into a raffle for some prizes

throughout the food drive.  Any non-perishable goods are welcomed, but the more nutritious the food for families in need, the better for their holiday meals.  Thank you so much for your generosity to our community! Please email Elise Kuypers for any questions at ekuypers@lasdschools.org.

Parent Education Opportunities

Project Cornerstone- for parents and caregivers!

Join this parent/caregiver group to learn tips and tools to keep up with the fast changing growth of our children, tweens and teens. Each week, we explore new ways to build stronger kids, stronger families, and stronger neighborhoods. Data collected from our own Santa Clara county youth shows us 8 ways to help kids succeed in school, in relationships and in life, while supporting parents!
