So much has been happening these days, it feels hard to keep up! First, I would like to thank our PTA and all of our families for an amazing Walkathon. What an amazing day it was - even the heat couldn’t keep people away! We also have to give everyone a huge THANK YOU for getting Stinger Bee back from the Aliens, and here on campus where he belongs!
|
We also celebrated Wacky Hair day last week and Unity Day this week. Events of this nature are so wonderful to see students come together and connect in fun ways. For Unity Day, Mrs. Schmitz provided chalk to the students so they could write positive messages and affirmations for everyone! |
Lastly, we are coming upon our big LAEF fundraising phoneathon. Please see below the posting from LAEF of all the amazing things they provide to our district and our school directly. Without LAEF we would not have our amazing PE teachers, Coach Sky and Coach Kay, nor our Librarian Mrs. Tate. They provide our teachers with supplies that would not otherwise be available to them and support all of our counselors. As a principal who came to this district from another district in San Jose, I cannot speak highly enough about the support LAEF provides to us as educators, and to your children in their student experience. Please take a moment to consider making your donation - it truly does make a difference!
Warm Regards,
Mrs. March

Fellow fourth graders Seoyoon and Zoe nominated Lillian for our peer BEES award honor. Seoyoon stated, "She faced many challenges of language differences, but now she is a part of our beautiful community. “ Zoe stated,”She is so great at following along in class even though her language is different.”
Thank you, Lillian, for being so educated and dedicated to the choices you make as part of our Springer Community. And thank you also to Seoyoon and Zoe for being so empathetic and inclusive to our new Stingers. You are all amazing and positive role models to your peers.

Ms. Pollock’s class hosted Honey this week. It was so nice to watch the students and all their amazing questions in this classroom. They are curious about so many things. They played math games that helped them understand time (Honey still thinks that is a tough one!) The buzzing never stops in this class - working together and problem solving is always a happy hum.

Henry spent his week with Mrs. Mora’s class. This is another class where the questions never end and the post-its are abundant! Henry finds it really interesting to be able to actually see how they are learning.
These post-its share different points of view, unique questions he never thought of before and clear collaboration, as they take a question and build on it from different perspectives. This class will make great co-workers some day, because you can see the respect they are building between one another.

Thank you, Springer students, families, friends, sponsors and volunteers! Your Walkathon support raised over $42,000 for PTA programs, events and experiences! Students earned a schoolwide popsicle party at lunch and a special surprise from Mrs. March for surpassing our $40,000 goal! Kinder and 3rd grade also earned celebrations for the highest fundraising participation — more details to come!
