Dear Springer Families,
Our students did a fantastic job during our recent California ShakeOut earthquake drill! Even with the warm temperatures outside, everyone did a wonderful job following directions and staying safe. A big thank-you to our parents who helped us test our safety procedures by trying to “sneak in” and pick up their children! We are happy to report that we passed with flying colors! No unauthorized visitors were able to approach our students without going through our formal checkout procedures. We are so proud of our students and grateful to our families for helping us keep our school safe! Please remember these steps in the event of a real emergency:
-
Have your picture ID with you - even if the front office knows you they are required to see an ID in order to release your child
- Parents will check in at the Primary Lunch Tables. Families may not access their children without checking in and will be turned away at the Cuesta gate and the Fire Lane and redirected to the parking lot gate by the primary lunch tables.
- If you are an emergency contact for anyone else at this school, all children will be released to you. We release students to the first person that shows up, so be prepared to communicate that with your families if you do not want this responsibility.
Now, let’s get ready to WALK! We hope you’ll join us this Saturday for our annual Walkathon, one of everyone’s favorite events of the year! As you may have heard, our beloved Stinger Bee has been captured by aliens! 👽 They’ve informed us that Stinger won’t be allowed to join us on Saturday unless we raise $5,000! We need your help to bring him back! Please remember to gather your pledges and encourage friends and family to contribute between now and Saturday. Let’s work together to reach our goal and rescue Stinger so he can join us for all the Walkathon fun!
** REMINDER: NO Dogs allowed on campus at the Walkathon
Let’s show those aliens what our school community can do! Go, Stingers! 🐝💛
Warmly,
Mrs. March

Second grader Max was recognized by a fellow second grader, Addie, for our peer BEES award honor. Addie stated, "When I need someone to play with, Max is always there for me.”
Thank you, Max, for being so empathetic in the choices you make to support our Springer Community. You are an amazing Stinger and a great role model to your peers.

Honey really enjoyed her time in Mrs. Klingberg’s class this week. They were so creative and friendly. Just look at these eager faces.
Honey can see the Springer Spirit in these little ones, they just love listening to books and building crazy towers. Authors and Engineers in the making!

Henry wishes he could spend every week in Ms. Williams class when they are in the STEM LAB. I mean, really . . . talk about engineers in the making.
This week they were learning about force and designing carnival rides. Henry will be the first in line when they get hired by Disney as their newest Imagineers!!

We absolutely can't wait to see everyone this Saturday, October 17th (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM) for a wonderful day together at our Walkathon! Here are a few friendly reminders:
- ⛺️ Set Up Your Home Base: Plan to stay for the day! Bring lawn chairs, a shade tent, or an umbrella (share with a friend!), along with snacks so your walkers have a cozy spot to rest and recharge. Feel free to set up your tents on Friday night after 6:30 PM (once track setup is completed).
-
💧Stay Hydrated & Sun-Safe: Keep your little bees buzzing! Be sure to bring reusable water bottles to fill up at the campus water fountains. Don't forget to pack sunscreen and hats to stay protected from the sun!
-
🥪 Food, Treats & Bake Sale: We'll have fantastic food trucks on-site serving up tasty lunch options (including vegetarian choices)! Don't forget to swing by our deliciously sweet Bake Sale, too.
- 🪀 Pocket People Fun: Springer’s beloved Pocket People will be wandering around selling fun candies and trinkets, so be sure to stock up on quarters!
- 🐾 Humans Only: Please note that this is a humans-only event—no pets allowed.
Thank you all for your wonderful support. Let's make this Walkathon an unforgettable day!
