	About the Star: The Springer Star is the Springer School newsletter and is one of the primary ways to get information to the Springer community. The sole purpose of the Star is to communicate important school related information to the community. The Star consists of: Principal’s Corner - This is a weekly message from the principal, Mr. Celeste regarding events at the school and/or important curriculum information. Save The Date - This is a list of important school events that you won't want to forget. PTA News - PTA related information from the co-presidents. Student Council News - Information and news from the Student Council president and secretary. School Flyers – Information and forms about school related events. Frequent Flyer – A mini newsletter published by the school district office containing information for the entire school district (contact: Janie Boscacci, Superintendent’s Assistant at 947-1152).
	Getting the Star: The Springer Star is published every Friday. The Springer Star is sent by email to everyone who signs up for it. Printed copies are only distributed to families requesting paper copies.To receive a paper copy of the Springer Star, fill out a form in the Springer Office. You can receive the Springer Star automatically every week by email. Subscribe to the Springer Star Here! A few minutes after clicking "Join Now" you will receive an email message. Click on the link as shown below to complete your subscription. You must click on the link in your email to complete the process. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about the mailing list You do not need a Yahoo account to receive the Star if you follow the instructions exactly as shown above No one but the Springer Star Editor sees anyone's email address. No one but the Springer Star Editor will be sending messages. The email addresses *will not* be used for any other purpose but receiving the Springer Star. You can remove yourself from the mailing list by sending an email to springerstar-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com

	Getting Something Published: The editors work to present the information submitted in a concise and consistent manner. The deadline for all submissions (flyers and articles) is Monday night for inclusion in that week’s newsletter. No exceptions! All submitted materials are subject to approval by the school staff. Submissions which are for the purpose of promoting a business will not be accepted unless specifically approved by the Principal and PTA. No political materials will be published. No photographs of children's faces will be published Email your materials to springer_star@yahoo.com. Material submitted after Monday night will be published in the following week's Star. Pre-formatted materials will only be accepted in the following formats Microsoft Word for Windows Adobe Acrobat JPEG Plain Text All submitted materials may be re-formatted as needed. Information sent in an email message as plain text is the preferred option. The Star editor can then format your information to best fit the newsletter. Information flyers will be run for a maximum of two weeks. Be accurate with your submission, the Star does not provide "proof" copies prior to publishing.
