This schedule is a guideline. It is used for planning lessons, but it becomes a flexible schedule when the need arises. Most curriculum areas overlap each other during instruction. Integration of the curriculum occurs daily—such as math with science, oral language with math, art with literature, writing with literature and so forth.
The children go to the Computer Lab Monday through Thursday, one-half hour each day, starting at the end of September.
Tuesday and Thursday are our P.E. days. Tuesday’s P.E. instruction is with Ms. Mary Alber, one of the District’s P.E. Instructors. Thursday’s P.E. will be taught by the first grade teachers. We will have P.E. in the afternoons. Please have your child wear comfortable clothing and non-slip (sneakers) shoes on these days!
Tuesday is also our Library day. We will go to the school library from 12:45-1:15. Each child may check out two books for a two-week period. Please be sure that your child is prompt in returning his or her library books.
The V.I.P. activity is designed to allow the class to get to know each child and their family individually. Sharing time is allowed during the week your child has been chose the V.I.P. When you child is randomly chosen, an information sheet will come home. Everyone anticipates this V.I.P. drawing on Fridays!
