Homework
I hope the homework is going smoothly!
I have checked with the students throughout the week to see how they were progressing and to clarify any questions the students may have.
Some students returned their folders before today. If they want to return their homework folder early, they can keep it in their desk or backpack. I will not be collecting the folder until Friday.
If you have any concerns about your child’s completion of the homework at home, feel free to contact me. Also, if something came up or was not clear on the homework, you can always leave a note for me written directly on the front cover.

Bears
Thank you so much for helping with the Bear Fact homework! We will share all the facts next week and will collect our favorite facts and include them into a class book entitled Our Favorite Bear Facts. We have also completed numerous teddy bear problem solving activities, reviewed the sequence of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Thank you to Erica Peters for coming in as our first Literature Docent. Erica read some enjoyable versions of the Goldilocks and the Three Bears stories.
Teddy Bear Making!
Monday, Sept. 22, is the big day of our Teddy Bear stuffing activity in the multipurpose room. We are all so excited! We have a few activities to accomplish using the new bears during the day. Then your child will bring home his/her hand-stuffed bear to enjoy forever!
If you are interested in helping, please contact Stacey Ryder. Thank you!

Friday Folders
Thank you to Laurel Chessin, Tracey Cook and Claudine Sheridan for signing up to stuff Friday Folders.
I hope that you review your child’s work as it comes back weekly and discuss their progress. The students are aware that they are to keep all papers in their folders until a parent has received the packet.
If there are any forms to return to school, you may send them back to school via the Friday Folder. Our classroom “Homework Helper” will check the folders on Monday and give me any forms. You are welcome to drop them in the marked envelopes provided on the back of the large cupboard on the left as you walk into the room.

Library
This week was our second visit to the Library. The Library books can also be included on the blue book slip used for Book Borrowing!
Please help your child remember to return their books by Tuesday morning. They are also welcome to return them any day at recess and lunch, if they would like to check out a new book before Tuesday.
Many thanks to Tracey Cook, Beth Dawes, Tom Pare, Stacey Ryder, and Claudine Sheridan for volunteering in the library on Tuesdays throughout the year!

The Springer School Garden
On Monday, the entire student body atttended the opening of the new Springer Garden. I hope you have a chance to walk through the garden area before or after school one day to see the all the hard work that went into it’s design! All students will be using the garden with garden docents in lessons that will enhance our Life Science program.
Enclosed are the guidelines we are asking the students to use as they enter the garden. These are provided for you to review with your child.

Springer Family Picnic
It was fun to see many of you at last week’s family picnic. I was able to get some of our families photos. I do know that I may have missed about seven families. If I missed you, please let me know and hopefully I can snap a photo of you and your child right after school one day.
Have a wonderful weekend with your family!
