Springer PTA Goals 2009-2010

 

Promote inclusiveness with a focus on continued community building.

  • Continue orientation programs to welcome and involve incoming families.
  • Support PTA programs that develop community, including outreach and support.

 

Facilitate communication between Springer staff, PTA, parents, students, other district schools, and surrounding community.

  • Increase readership of the Star newsletter.
  • Increase usage of Springer website for easy access to school information, including announcements, event, calendar, and program information.

  • Develop guidelines for school-wide email communications.

 

Provide student programs that enrich and supplement academics and life skills.

  • Fund the instructional materials, supplies, and printing costs to help offset reductions in funding to LASD from California State.

  • Evaluate, support, and implement Project Cornerstone programs.

  • Continue support for the Living Classroom, art and music enrichment, and noontime lunch clubs and activities.

 

Support staff.

  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the increased demands on school staff and administration.

  • Continue the open dialog with staff about how to meet their needs.

  • Continue to provide funding to support teacher purchases made for classroom instruction.

 

Develop environmental awareness and promote stewardship in our students and community.

 

Create financial plan to support the Principal’s long term goals for things such as technology replacement and capitol improvements.
