Fine Arts and P.E.
On Tuesdays, students in grades four-six participate in the district Fine Arts and P.E. program, or fapé. In addition to physical education and instrumental music classes, students will take a trimester each of three fine arts offerings during the school year: digital design, visual art, and drama. This is in accordance with State curriculum frameworks. The team of fine arts and physical education teachers will be visiting each campus once a week during a two-hour block of time. During that block, students will participate in a physical education class, an instrumental music class (or non-instrumental focusing on music appreciation, genres, and theory for those choosing not to play an instrument), and a fine arts class.
Important: This program extends the day for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders by 10 minutes on Tuesday. Starting September 1st dismissal is at 2:55 p.m. every Tuesday for grades 4-6. Lower grades will continue to dismiss at 2:25.
