School Advisory Committees

There are three committees at the school that are composed of parents and staff who work in a cooperative, advisory capacity:

School Site Council

Technology Committee

Campus Improvement Committee

School Site Council

The School Site Council is a committee composed of interested parents and teachers who review and monitor the programs offered at Springer Elementary School. The committee follows guidelines designed by the California Department of Education. Every school in California is required to sponsor a School Site Council. Each year, the council reviews and monitors the goals of the Single Plan for Student Achievement. The council also reviews and develops a clear understanding of assessment. In addition, the council makes recommendations as to program supplements and, at times, seeks funds to implement programs to support student learning. The council meets at 3:15 P.M. on the last Tuesday of the month. Please consider joining the council and learning about and contributing to quality programs for our children.

Technology Committee

The Springer Technology Committee is similar in function to the School Site Council, but is not a mandated committee. Over the years, the Technology Committee has actually taken the lead on many decisions to integrate technology as a learning tool. The sharing of expertise by talented community members and our instructional staff has enabled Springer Elementary School administration to make appropriate and effective decisions regarding hardware and software purchases, implementation of digital resources, and strategies for instruction. The Technology Committee meets at 7:30 A.M. in the main computer lab on the last Thursday of each month. Please consider joining the Technology Committee and stay on the cutting edge of the integration of digital resources in your child’s education as he / she progresses through the grades.

Campus Improvement Committee

The Campus Improvement Committee is made up of the principal and interested teachers and parents to make long term plans and priorities for campus improvements. The meeting schedule varies as needed and includes field trips to other campuses and public spaces. A background in landscape or interior design, construction, facilities, space planning, and other relevant fields is especially helpful. If interested, contact Mr. Spenader.
