Good Bye To Linda Williams
 
The community of Springer Elementary School will say good bye to Linda Williams this Friday evening. Linda will direct her final performance with the Springer Singers. Linda and I go back many, many years. She started the first Monta Loma Elementary School Chorus in the late 80’s. When the opportunity came to ask Linda to develop a chorus at Springer when I arrived here, I jumped at the chance. Linda has directed the singers ever since.
 
It is time for her to say good bye. It is time for us to send her our wishes for a happy life.

Minimum Day, Maximum Benefit
 
Los Altos School District continues to support focused staff development, teacher collaboration time, and student achievement. Students in all grade levels recently participated in a district wide writing assessment. MONDAY, MAY 12, will be a minimum day to allow time for teachers across the district to score the writing assessments and to discuss ways to continue to improve writing instruction. The focused approach of teaching the Step Up to Writing process has successfully increased writing proficiency. Scored student writing samples will be sent home during the first week of June. In addition to increasing student writing achievement, the purpose of this process is to  inform parents of their child’s writing performance. Thanks for your support!
 
 
Basketball In May ?
 
The annual Grade 6 Los Altos School District Basketball Tournament will be held this Friday evening at Blach Middle School. Our boys and girls basketball teams will be competing against teams from all elementary  schools in the district. The games begin at 3:30pm.
 
This is a very exciting tournament. Spend some time supporting our students. Join us at Blach this evening.
